Guillaume Lemay-Thivierge's excuses are hard to believe

Did you see the video of Guillaume Lemay-Thivierge that went viral over the weekend? If you haven't seen it, let me tell you, this way is better.

We see the actor filming himself in the woods. While making the dubious joke, he leans against a tree with the “N” word emblazoned in capital letters.

The day after posting this video, he posted another video explaining himself. He said he had never seen an inscription carved on a tree.

Hmm…I have a doubt.

I could be wrong, but…

If you like my humble opinion, I don't believe Guillaume Lemay-Thivierge's excuses.

The inscription of the n-word was too visible to be noticed.

I could be wrong, but I honestly think that Guillaume Lemay-Thivierge saw this tree with the inscription and thought about what round and funny way he could show it to his subscribers.

Maybe I'm wrong again, but I think he decided to make a silly play with the word “work” for a reason to show this particular tree because of its workmanship.

It is your responsibility to double check

As others who responded to the video have raised, you'd have to be really unlucky to accidentally capture a single birch tree with such an inscription in a place full of birches.

Even if Guillaume is telling the truth, if he didn't see the engraving, I tell myself it must have been because he didn't ask again before he posted his video, and the inscription was so blatant!

I believe that public figures have a responsibility to carefully vet their content before publishing it.

In 2024, it's really unacceptable that things like this happen, whether intentionally or not.
