Technical tests for the roguelike Hades II will begin soon. Many people may be waiting for the continuation of the warmly received game about the son of the ruler of the underworld of the dead, but not everyone will be able to experience the production before its debut. Fans who won't be able to make it to the auditions may be interested Gameplay footage from today's broadcast from Supergiant Games.
Creative people Hades IIDirector Amir Rao and creative director Greg Kasavin played an early version of the production live, which will also soon be tested during technical tests. The transfer took a long time, but thanks to him we know What the first major site looks like and what it is like Hades II Different from the first.
The basics of the gameplay are practically the same – playing as Melinoë, we traverse randomly generated levels, defeating opponents using the divine gifts we obtain along our journey.
- The heroine of the novel “Second 2” is a witch. This means that he uses his own spells in battle (not just weapons like Zagreus) and can collect resources in the Underground, which he will later use in a safe place. The game includes mechanics related to character improvement that were not present in the first part, for example the Altar of Ashes (where we use previously obtained ashes to discover new cards with benefits) or casting spells using the Cauldron.
- Just like Zagreus, the Olympian gods will aid Melinoe in battle, but relationships with them must be built anew. W Hades II Among others Demeter, Hypnos and Charon will return, but we will also meet new heroes, somewhat similar to those of the first game. For example, Dora is similar to Dosa and Odysseus is similar to Achilles.
- Despite the many characters from Greek mythology, the creators stress that you do not need to know ancient mythology or even the first game to understand the story in it. Hades II.
- The antagonist in the sequel is Cronos, who is the source of all things, and not the titular Hades, who was the main “bad guy” in the first part. The Titan of Time will likely be the final boss of the game.
Moreover, you can notice that the graphics are almost the same as in the first game Hadesi. However, a change of location, appearance of famous characters, or soundtrack gives “2” a slightly unique style.
I remember that Hades II It will debut in Early Access on Steam and the Epic Games Store in Q2 2024.
