“Pinocchio” – a remake of the classic Disney movie
It will be another version of Carl Collodi’s classic fairy tale. The story of the lifelike wooden doll will be an excuse to talk about the relationships between father and son, and the consequences of lying and living in a fantasy world.
Behind the project camera was Robert Zemeckis, creator of the films “Back to the Future” or “Polar Express”. The screen will feature Benjamin Evan Ainsworth (“The Haunted Manor in Bly”), as the main character, as well as Tom Hanks, Cynthia Erivo, Luke Evans, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Keegan Michael-Key and Lauren Bracco.
The premiere won’t take long – the movie will appear on Disney+ on September 8th.
“Pinocchio” from Guillermo del Toro
Guillermo Del Toro is also working on his version of the fairy tale for the Netflix platform. Set against the backdrop of rising fascism in Mussolini’s Italy, its plot becomes the epitome of love and rebellion, as the title character attempts to meet his father’s expectations.
The cast includes David Bradley, who will play Geppetto, as well as Tilda Swinton, Christoph Waltz, Finn Wolfhard, Cate Blanchett, John Turturro, Ron Perlman, Tim Blake Nelson, Bourne Gorman and Gregory Mann in the title role. Del Toro will become the film’s co-producer, songwriter, and co-creator with Mark Gustafson. The premiere is scheduled for December.
