The upcoming premiere of the film (January 5, 2024) is an excellent opportunity to remember the first cinematic adaptation of Przechowa’s masterpiece, filmed in 1983 by Krzysztof Gradowski (1943-2021) with the incomparable Pyotr Fronczewski in the lead role, which until now is still considered worship.
