Hubert Hurkacz said goodbye to the ATP 1000 tournament in Cincinnati on Saturday night into Sunday. Due to injury, the Wroclaw native canceled his quarterfinal clash with Frances Tiafoe immediately after the end of the first set.
At the beginning of the competition, weather conditions disrupted the match. Although the match started with a delay of more than twenty minutes, immediately after the first game, which Hurkacz won, the tennis players had to leave the court due to rain.

The break did not last long. After a few minutes, the match between the Pole and the American resumed.
In the fifth game of the first set, Tiafoe did a great job of coming back and managed to break the Polish representative’s serve. Since then, the Wroclaw player has struggled to find the right rhythm of the game.
Tiafoe won the first set 6:3 and then Hurkacz unexpectedly lost the match. The Pole was unable to continue the match due to injury. After the victory over Yoshihito Nishioka, Hurkacz indicated that his health is not at its best.

The 26-year-old Tiafoe will play Germany’s Alexander Zverev in the final of the tournament in Cincinnati.
