The latest WTA rankings were released on Monday. Iga Świątek remained the leader in the world rankings. How big is the Polish tennis player’s advantage over the rest of the bet?
21-year-old Iga Świątek kicked off her 49th week on Monday as the leader in the WTA rankings. Our tennis player is already in Indian Wells, where the struggles will begin at the prestigious BNP Paribas Open 2023 event on Wednesday. The Polish tennis player will be the highest seed in this tournament and will receive a bye in the first round.
Świątek will defend his title and 1000 ranking points in Indian Wells. Currently, she has 10,585 to her credit, while Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, who is ranked second in the world rankings, has lost 4,485 points. And the loss of the third American, Jessica Pegula, is much greater because it is 5090 points.
Magda Lynette, second of the White and Reds team, appeared in the new WTA 250 event, which is being held on the hard courts in Austin. Poznańian never won a victory in the Texas capital and remained the 21st batter in the world. Now he will start in Indian Wells, where, like Świątek, he will start the struggle from the second round.

Magdalena Froch also sang in Austin, but also failed to improve her grades. The player from Łódź dropped from 105th to 106th on Monday. She will now face two stage eliminations for the WTA 1000 Championship in Indian Wells.
Katarzyna Kawa dropped to 235th place, but nevertheless managed to overtake Maja Czawalinska (WTA 238), who will return to the professional courts this week. Weronika Falkowska has moved up to 247th, being the only Polish woman to score points on the ITF World Tennis Tour in Trnava in recent days.
The world’s top 20 tennis players were unchanged on Monday. Monterey’s Croatian champion Donna Vekic moved up from 31st to 23rd. The winner of the Austin contest, Ukraine’s Marta Kostyuk, reached the 40th spot of her career.
The next list of WTA rankings will be released only after the end of the prestigious BNP Paribas Open 2023 tournament in Indian Wells, that is, on Monday, March 20.
