IGN Entertainment, part of Ziff Davis, announced the acquisition of several of Gamer Network’s leading brands, including Eurogamer, VG247, Rock Paper Shotgun and GamesIndustry.biz.
The deal, financial details of which were not disclosed, is intended to expand IGN’s influence in the video game media industry.
The company also owns shares in Outside Xbox, Digital Foundry, Hookshot Media, Nintendo Life, Push Square, Pure Xbox, and Time Extension. Despite the ownership change, ReedPop will retain control of the stock exchange events, MCM Comic Con and the Popverse brand.
