IKEA announced on Wednesday the extension of its repair campaign for select Lettan mirrors. The reason is cracking of the fittings – we read in the message. The Swedish chain is appealing to customers to stop using mirrors and request free replacement fittings.
IKEA explained in an announcement on Wednesday that the network had received information “about cases of cracks in Litan wall mirror holders.” She added: “As a result, the mirror may fall to the ground.”

It is reported that in January 2023, IKEA announced the repair of select Lettan mirrors due to cracked holders. “After further investigation, as well as additional inspections with our suppliers, we determined that the defective fasteners had been used in production for a longer period than IKEA was initially aware of,” the company explained.
Therefore, the Swedish network has now decided, as part of preventive measures, to extend the corrective action. As we read, corrective action covers the following:
- All Litan mirrors with production date up to and including 2105 (weekly)
- Litan mirrors with supplier number 21944 and production date up to 2325 (annual weeks) inclusive.

IKEA explained that the production date and supplier number can be found on the sticker on the back of the mirror. The letter is accompanied by an example label containing the supplier number (21944) and production date (2105 = year, week, week) in red.
