Insects are supposed to be the food of the future.  Is eating insects harmful?  This is what scientists say [26.02.2023]

At the beginning of 2023, the European Commission issued an implementing regulation allowing partially skimmed home cricket food powder to be put on the market. In 2019, a food company (Cricket One) submitted an application to the European Commission. During this time, the powder was tested and finally the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) decided that this powder could be consumed by humans and allowed it to be sold in the European Union. In 2021, the European Union Food Safety Agency recognized dried snailworm larvae as completely safe for consumption. In June 2021, the EU Commission issued a regulation authorizing dried worm larvae to be put on the market, while in November the list was extended to migrating locusts and in February 2022 to house cockroaches. Food made from these insects can be easily purchased in online stores and some stationery stores in Poland.

It is not true, what we can find in some media, that cricket powder is added to food products in an uncontrolled way. on the contrary. The manufacturer will have to clearly label the product that contains insecticide powder.
