Iran congratulates the Palestinians. Egypt and Turkey call on both sides to exercise restraint
“We congratulate the Palestinian fighters and will support them until the complete liberation of Palestine and Jerusalem.” – Rahim Safavi said, quoted by ISNA.
The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned of the “serious consequences” of the escalation of the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians. He added: “We call on the parties to exercise maximum restraint and avoid exposing civilians to further risks.” – He wrote in the ministry’s announcement.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called on the parties to “Refrain from rash steps that could exacerbate the conflict. The Turkish president called for protecting the “historical and religious status” of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in East Jerusalem.
