Iga Świątek started the fight at Wimbledon in great style. The Polish woman won the first set of fencing with Jana Witt by zero. The Croatian caused more problems for her in the second match, but in the end Raczynska won 2:0 (6:0, 6:3).
After a day off, the 21-year-old is back in the game. Her second round opponent will be Leslie Patinama Kerkhove. The Dutchman owes her participation in the main tournament to Dance Kovinić, who was forced to withdraw from the competition due to injury.
30-year-old Patinama Kerkhove defeated Britain’s Sunay Kartal 4:6, 6:3, 6:1 in the first round. Now she faces an even more difficult challenge.
Christmas Party – Patinama Kerkhove will take place at Court Number One. This will be the second in a row and will start right after Jordan Thompson’s match against Stefanos Tsitsipas. If the weather doesn’t get in the way of the planners, we’ll see Polish and Dutch women around 4pm.
