Joshua Kimmich is considering leaving Bayern Munich and is a viable transfer option for Barcelona, writes Ferran Martinez at Mundo Deportivo.
Recently, you can read about a possible transfer for Joshua Kimmich in the pages of ‘Die Tageszeitung’, which indicates an interest from Real Madrid in his person. I wrote more about environmental change by the Germans in 2024.
Ferran Martinez has now addressed the topic of the defensive midfielder’s potential move to Spain. In his opinion, the 28-year-old is seriously considering starting a new adventure outside Bayern Munich. Knowing this, Barcelona had to take the first steps and look into the possibility of signing him in the next window.
Kimmich has been with the Bavarian team for almost eight years. He won, among other things, seven German championships with him and is fighting for more. However, the atmosphere in the team was not the best for some time. The 76-time representative of his country reportedly did not understand the decision to end cooperation with Julian Nagelsmann. And then he started thinking more intensely about transportation.
His signing by Barcelona could be a compromise between Xavi and the Barcelona authorities. The former would like to have Martin Zubemendi in the squad, but Real Sociedad will not let him go for less than €60m. The Catalans know it is difficult for the German to get out of Munich, but if he decides to leave, they say it can be done at a lower cost.
Kimmich has good dressing roommates for the new Spanish champions – Robert Lewandowski, but above all Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
Barcelona know they have to act quickly because other clubs, such as Manchester City, may turn their backs on him.
