The Italian Federation decided to look carefully at the transfers made by Serie A clubs, as doubts were raised mainly in deals involving Juventus, but also in Napoli and Sampdoria Genoa.
62 deals were under the scrutiny of officials. All of them are interested in exchanging players with Italian teams. It is possible that they overestimated the individual players to balance their budgets.
Up to 42 cases related to Juventus. The “old lady” exchanged players with other teams several times. Among those cases, there are two who were very loud in the past.
We are talking about the work done with Manchester City and Barcelona. In the first case it was about replacing Joao Cancelo with Danilo, in the second Miralem Pjanic instead of Arthur Melo.
The value of the latter was 72 million euros, while the Bosnian was to be more than 60 million. The daily newspaper El Tiempo published the exact list of suspicious transactions.
The transfer of Victor Osimhen to Naples was also under the scrutiny of activists. The value of this deal was more than 71 million euros. Orestis Karnezis, Claudio Manzi, Ciro Palmieri and Luigi Liguori went to Lille.
All four were valued at more than 20 million euros. The latter two returned to Italy in no time. They currently play for Serie A clubs, but are worth €7m and €4m respectively.
