Several photos and videos have been circulating since his coronation as king, and one can notice that Charles III’s hands are very red and swollen. His fingers in particular attracted public attention.
During a 2012 interview in Australia, Charles called them “sausage fingers”, a problem the king had suffered from for years.
There are several reasons to explain the appearance of the hands and feet of Elizabeth II’s eldest son.
According to some doctors, the swelling of his hands could be a simple sign of arthritis, edema (accumulation of body fluid in the hands and feet) or aging.
