KSW returned to Małopolska again, and this time it docked at a new place – in Tarnów. The first historical concert in this city had just taken place, and the competition venue was the famous “Jaskółka”, where the Ekstraklasa team of handball players Grupa Azoty Tarnów plays their matches every day.
The original fight that evening was supposed to be a fight between two of the top fighters in the light heavyweight division, Damian Piowarczyk vs. Marcin Wojciech. Due to health issues, the fight was moved to the September event in Lubin. Instead, fans got an equally good spectacle in the form of a heavyweight fight.
