LG’s first gaming laptop – the LG UltraGear

The LG UltraGear (17G90QTM) is the company’s first gaming laptop. What should you offer to those who decide to buy?

LG UltraGear, the first of its kind from LG

In April, following earlier rumors, LG raised the white flag and officially announced its withdrawal from the smartphone market. At the time, it was announced that she would focus on the areas in which the company does best. However, it turns out that this is not all, because at the same time investments are planned in new segments of the market. Although LG has already dealt with laptops, it’s the first time it’s proud of a gaming laptop.

Not surprisingly, it will extend the UltraGear line. Just like the fact that it is linked to other LG laptops, specifically those in the LG gram line. Mainly in terms of design, which is supposed to be very useful. Despite the large screen, large battery and performance, the weight will not exceed 2.7 kg. The LG UltraGear will also be equipped with an aluminum casing (black with purple accents) and of course an RGB backlit keyboard (per key).

“The LG UltraGear Gaming Laptop has everything you need to take the latest games in, giving you a smooth and responsive gaming experience that all gamers want. The first gaming laptop, the 17G90Q, sets itself apart from the competition with its cutting-edge specifications, large, high-quality screen and sleek, lightweight design. Weight that increases comfort and portability.” – Seo Young-jae, Senior Vice President and Head of IT Business Unit at LG

But let’s move on to several of the most important issues. Features related to components. The 11th generation Intel Tiger Lake H processor works with the NVIDIA GeForcerTM RTX 3080 Max-Q graphics card, dual-channel RAM with a maximum capacity of 32 GB, and an SSD that is responsible for performance.

The screen will actually be large, 17.3 inches. The IPS panel has a 16:9 aspect ratio, Full HD resolution, and a 300Hz refresh rate. The emphasis is also on the vapor chamber cooling system and the focus on the best sound thanks to the built-in two-channel speaker system and support for DTS: X Ultra technology.

When will the LG gaming laptop be available for purchase?

It will not be an immediate first appearance on the market. In the official announcement, LG announced that the LG UltraGear will debut in the first quarter of 2022, but only in the United States and South Korea. Residents of other regions will also have the opportunity to access it, but at a later, but not specified, time.

It is difficult to make final judgments now, especially with the ambiguous price, and according to the manufacturer (this and everyone else), everything looks great as always on such occasions. Only tests will verify this. What are your first impressions of this model and its specifications? Should LG really be looking for new customers here?
