The main character of the movie is John Madden – Legendary American football coach and commentator who died in 2021. In the late 1980s, in collaboration with Electronic Arts, he created a video game franchise that today is worth over $4 billion. All versions of Madden NFL have sold more than 130 million copies to date. According to The Hollywood Reporter, O. Russell’s film is a behind-the-scenes account of the game’s creation.
The director wrote the screenplay based on a script by Cambron Clarke, which was included on the prestigious Black List in 2022. This is a list of the best scripts in circulation in Hollywood that have not yet been adapted for the screen.
