Madonna has opened up about her “miraculous recovery” a year after suffering a bacterial infection that proved fatal.

The singer wrote an emotional message on Instagram last year to celebrate her improved health.
“One year ago today, I survived a life-threatening illness and returned from the hospital,” she wrote on July 4. “I couldn’t stand holding a sparkler in my garden. I made a wonderful recovery and had a wonderful year.
“Thank God. Life is beautiful!” she added.
Last June, Madonna’s manager, Guy Oseary, revealed that the 65-year-old pop queen was in intensive care with a “severe bacterial infection”. He wrote: “Her condition is improving but she is still undergoing treatment. Full recovery is expected,” he said.
