Thomas Haito offered Marek Babshon to coach Schalke, and the German club’s sporting director, Andre Heichelmann, described the Polish’s nomination as “interesting.” But in the end nothing happened. Why? The above-mentioned Hajato narrated about this.
In just recent weeks, Marek Babsun has been linked with the Czech Republic, Shakhtar Donetsk and Lech Poznań. However, the facts indicate that the former coach, among others, Rakov Czestochova, remains unemployed.
It turns out that’s not the end of the speculation, because the 49-year-old has also been offered to Schalke.
Babzon’s candidacy was suggested to the seven-time German champion by a former player of this team, Thomas Haito.
The former Polish representative even claims that sporting director Andrej Heschelman described the coach’s candidacy as “interesting”. He was positive and a meeting was announced, which ultimately did not take place.
Hajto feels angry about this turn of events, which he expressed in an interview with the “RevierSport” website.
– It’s unbelievable how much incompetence exists in this club – he began.
– Let me give you a simple example. Even before signing the contract with Karel Geraerts, I spoke on the phone with sporting director Heichelmann and suggested to him the coach of the Polish champion, Marek Babszun. Hajto points out that he is a distinguished guest, both on a personal and professional level.
– The coach found the idea interesting and said he would contact me in a day or two. What happened? Of course no answer. Then I thought they were amateurs. If you’re an activist, even if you’re not interested, you’ll come back and tell us what it’s like. He added that this shows the current level of Schalke.
Despite the change of coach, Schalke is still not brilliant and occupies sixteenth place in the German League table.
