Mary-Mai’s daughter on stage for Canada Day – “My little finger tells me this won’t be the last time I see Mary-Mai on a ‘stage’,” Mary-Mai hopes.

Marie-Mai’s daughter Giselle found herself on the same stage as her famous mother on Monday during a Canada Day performance in Ottawa. “So proud of my big Gigi,” the singer shared on Instagram under a photo of her daughter.

“Canada Day Productions was looking for a little girl to fly a paper airplane. It was absolutely magical to see her overcome her fear…it was her first time on such a big stage…she didn’t want to do it at the last minute, seconds before going on stage. She said: Well, I’m going! Both his parents like to take risks in life. It is very touching to see him follow our steps in his own way. She was very proud of herself…my little finger tells me this won’t be the last time I see her. platform », confided to Marie-Mai magazine.

Dressed in red for the occasion, the 7-year-old girl flew a large paper airplane of the same color above her head in a display marking 100 years of the Royal Canadian Air Force. The petite blonde, daughter of singer-songwriter David LaFleche, seemed to take her work very seriously.

“So proud of what we accomplished as a family this weekend! Celebrate Canada Day and perform for the first time on the floor And witness Gigi’s first solo steps on stage… good job David LaFleche. We have something to be proud of!! It’s always great working with you! Gigi and mom xxx,” the singer wrote in an Instagram post Tuesday morning.

Mary-Mai hosted Canada Day Afternoon with composer and Bedouin Soundclash member Jay Malinowski. The latter did not fail to emphasize the pleasure of working with his Quebec co-host.

“What an absolute pleasure to co-host this Canada Day program with Mary-Mai. Let’s do it again! ” he wrote alongside a photo of the pair backstage.

The soon-to-be 40-year-old singer-songwriter performed her new song on the floor On stage for the first time in front of a crowd dressed in red and white. His next album is scheduled for release in the fall.
