In theory, the Serbian national team will be a more difficult opponent than the Polish national team’s opponents in previous matches. In the group stage of EuroVolley 2023, the Serbs competed in Group A in the Italian cities of Perugia and Ancona. They have achieved four victories – 3-0 over Switzerland, 3-1 over Belgium, 3-0 over Estonia and 3-1 over Germany, and suffered one defeat – 0-3 against the Italian national team. In the 1/8 finals in Bari, Serbia beat the Czech Republic 3-0.

– The Serbs are a people with a very strong character, so I think they will take to the field and fight until the last drop of blood, and will not abandon us even for a single moment. It will be a very difficult and interesting match and a great battle. “Learning from the experience of the match against Belgium, we will try to play hard from start to finish,” Aleksandar Slyuka said in an interview with PAP.
The round of 16 match will be held at the PalaFlorio in Bari. The winner of the Poland-Serbia match will play in the semi-finals against the Slovenian national team, which beat Ukraine 3-1.
