According to the Polish Radio website. A company owned by Elon Musk wanted to acquire the Internet domain teslashop.com, which was founded by Polish businessman Cornelius Wityska.. The Polish claims that the site was created for private purposes only and does not intend to make money from it. The sole reason for the existence of the domain is to connect electric car enthusiasts who can exchange opinions, experiences and support in replacing car parts on the site.
“We’re crazy about Tesla. We love them, admire them and drive them with pleasure. We are also excited about the development of electric mobility and it excites our imagination more than the gas Seicento,” – this is what its creator and owner writes about himself and on his website.
Musk’s lawyers did not provide any advice to the Pole. They lost in court
Such words did not convince Elon Musk’s lawyers, who believed that the Polish was using the company’s trademark illegally. Thus, the businessman appeared before the American National Arbitration Center, where the court proceedings took place. As explained by Polish Radio, the American side drew attention to, among other things, the similarities between the Polish website and the American website of the company (including similar logos).

The arbitration proceedings ended with the Pole’s victory. Rafael Sikora, who represented Cornelius Wityska, told Polish Radio that the court rejected Tesla’s lawsuit. Furthermore, there is no appeal against the decision. “The ruling is final. Tesla cannot appeal or file a lawsuit at this time. It may pursue other trademark claims in court. “This could be compensation, provided of course that they prove that they suffer these damages,” Rafael Sikora said in an interview with Polish Radio.
