Netflix has just confirmed these rumors. The company will offer viewers a new subscription plan in November, which, at least, will not currently be available in Poland. Viewers will pay less but will see ads.
Netflix just announced a new ‘Basic with Ads’ show – Access to movies, series and documents with ads will be available for $6.99 (34.8 PLN). For a good start, subscription will start in Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Spain, Great Britain, and the United States. The premiere was announced on November 3.
The company provided specific details:
What hasn’t changed: A large selection of great TV shows and movies; A personalized viewing experience; Available on many TVs and mobile devices; Change or cancel the plan at any time.
What’s different: Video quality up to 720p/HD (now for both Basic with Ads and Basic plans); 4-5 minutes of advertising per hour; Limited movies and TV shows will not be available due to licensing restrictions we’re working on; Non Unable to download titles.
Netflix has also confirmed recent leaks, according to which viewers with a cheaper subscription will not only get products of lower quality, they will watch commercials every 4-5 minutes, but at the same time some products will not be available.
In addition, users will not be able to download items to devices, so in this case it is not possible to watch movies and series in places with problems with Internet access or even on an airplane.
