On January 1, 2024, E10 gasoline will start replacing E5 gasoline, which has been sold for years, at Polish gas stations. Not all cars can be safely refueled using it, but owners of older cars will have an emergency exit. Unfortunately, more expensive.
The revolution has finally come
In many EU countries, E10 gasoline – often alongside the better-known E5 – has been available for years. It will go on sale in Poland from January 1, 2024. Drivers who fill up with 95 gasoline will no longer have a choice over time, as E10 gasoline will replace E5 gasoline. What is the difference?
E10 gasoline contains 10%. The additive is in the form of a bioactive ingredientIt is simply alcohol made from plants. In E5 gasoline, the additive reached 5%. In reality The octane number remains unchangedBut the chemical composition of the fuel will be different. This may be a problem for many drivers.
Older cars are not designed to use E10 gasoline. The problem is the use of materials in the construction of the fuel system that react with fuel with a higher alcohol content, as well as poor cooperation with E10. As a result, after refueling these vehicles with E10, they may experience decreased power or increased fuel economy. In addition, premature failure may occur as a result of long-term use of E10 fuel Corrosion of fuel system elements and even leakage.

Of course, this does not mean that cars that cannot be fueled with E10 will no longer be usable. Drivers of these cars after January 1, 2024. They will have to refuel with Pb98 fuel, as the addition of the bioactive component will not be increased. However, it is no secret that 98 fuel is more expensive than the popular 95 fuel.
Therefore, the main question is which cars can be refueled with E10 gasoline and which ones should not be refueled. The Ministry of Climate and Environment stated that the “vast majority” of cars are spark ignition Manufactured after January 1, 2010 It is adapted to burn E10 gasoline. However, it is easy to see that this information is not very accurate. Many brands prepare their cars for E10 fuel well in advance. The government has launched a website where you can check your car (e10.klimat.gov.pl), but there are errors there. So how do you check if you can fuel your gasoline car with E10?
Cars ready for E10
The easiest way to find out is By looking under the fuel filler cap. There should be a label with the fuel that can be used in your vehicle. So, in addition to the symbol “E5” listed in the circle, there is also Entered into circuit “E10”You can fill in new fuel without any worries. What if there is no such sticker or symbol “E10”?
The matter does not have to be decided yet. In this case, it is worth reviewing the car owner's manual. If we don't have it, you can still contact the brand's distributor and ask the specialists. You can also check the car in the list published by ACEA, an organization of automobile manufacturers operating in Europe.

Echo Richards embodies a personality that is a delightful contradiction: a humble musicaholic who never brags about her expansive knowledge of both classic and contemporary tunes. Infuriatingly modest, one would never know from a mere conversation how deeply entrenched she is in the world of music. This passion seamlessly translates into her problem-solving skills, with Echo often drawing inspiration from melodies and rhythms. A voracious reader, she dives deep into literature, using stories to influence her own hardcore writing. Her spirited advocacy for alcohol isn’t about mere indulgence, but about celebrating life’s poignant moments.
