For some time now, videos have appeared online showing Russia using open-top vehicles resembling golf carts to transport its soldiers in order to attack Ukrainian positions. These are Chinese-made vehicles commonly used on farms and construction sites, Forbes writes.
Russia suffered heavy vehicle losses. Since the start of the invasion of Ukraine, Russia has lost approximately 2,600 battle tanks and 4,900 other armored vehicles. As the British Ministry of Defense reported earlier.
As Forbes wrote, one video shows a Russian armored column, including several Desertcross 1000-3 all-terrain vehicles, attacking Ukrainian positions in the Donetsk region.
According to Forbes, these vehicles were used to transport infantry to the front lines, and footage shows them being bombed by missiles and explosives dropped by drones. The video ends with shots of convertible vehicles lying in the mud.

The Russians attack from golf carts
Forbes correspondent David Ax noted that the vehicles lack armor and weapons and are usually seen on farms and construction sites rather than on the battlefield.
“Using an unarmored, open off-road vehicle — essentially a heavy-duty golf cart — to fight only a quarter-mile from the front lines is reckless, if not insane,” Ax wrote.
In December, the Russian military purchased hundreds of Chinese-made vehicles. There have been reports in the media that the country, after significant losses, is increasingly turning to Chinese suppliers for equipment.
The conflict is now in its third year, and both Russia and Ukraine are suffering from staff and equipment shortages.
