NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 – A new graphics card from the bottom is coming. For the first time possible in the second quarter of 2022

Medium to ultra-low graphic cards have been deprecated lately. Whereas a couple of years ago we still had quite a select group in this segment, today gamers looking for enough layout to play in Full HD have a real problem and often have to use the systems they are using. The reasons for this may be very high prices or the unavailability of GeForce RTX 3060 or Radeon RX 6600, but the truth may be that it is a successor to the popular Turing GTX 16xx series in the market. It looks like it will be the GeForce RTX 3050, the weakest model based on the Ampere architecture. It is said that his debut, however, will not take place until a few months later.

The GeForce RTX 3050 is supposed to have higher performance than the GTX 1660 SUPER, but it won’t outperform the RTX 2060 12GB chip. So it looks like the new GeForce will be more competitive with the upcoming Radeon RX 6500 XT / RX 6400 than the upcoming RX 6600 (XT) models.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 is back on sale. Gigabyte gears up for new gaming and WindForce models with 12GB of VRAM

According to the latest information, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 graphics cards will be designated PG190 SKU 70 and will be based on the GA106-150 core. Although it was initially believed that the RTX 3050 Ti model will receive exactly this version of the kernel, it seems that something has changed in this matter, which was reported by reliable sources of the VideoCardz service. The system is supposed to have 8GB of VRAM (maybe GDDR6), which seems to be good news – that’s quite enough for such a low-profile system.

Ultimately, the GeForce RTX 3050 has a higher performance than the GTX 1660 SUPER, but it’s claimed it won’t outperform the RTX 2060 12GB chip, which is due out next month. So it looks like the new GeForce will be more competitive with the upcoming Radeon RX 6500 XT / RX 6400 than the upcoming RX 6600 (XT) models. Given that Ampere is expected to have twice the VRAM, it can be safely assumed that the RTX 3050 would be a solid choice for Full HD gaming. However, we will have to wait a little longer for this chip to start appearing – the RTX 3090 Ti, RTX 3080 12GB and RTX 3070 Ti 16GB models will appear after the new year. So we assume the weakest amp won’t be released until the second quarter of 2022.
