Radosław Majewski was introduced as a new player for Znicz Pruszków.
Radosław Majewski has been attending Znicz Pruszków's training sessions for some time, and on Wednesday, the First League club confirmed the signing of a contract with him. At the moment, it is not known how long the two parties spent signing, but it can be assumed that the contract valid until the end of June was at stake.
For a 37-year-old, it's like going back to “old trash.” The player was born in Pruszków and took his first football steps in Znicz.
The attacking midfielder then played for Dyskopolia Grodziske Wielkopolski, Polonia Warsaw, Nottingham Forest, Veria, Lech Poznań, Pogo Szczecin, Western Sydney Wanderers and Wiecsta Kraków. The nine-time representative of Poland, among others, participated in 173 matches in the Ekstraklasa and 152 in the tournament.
Last season, he scored 12 goals and provided 10 assists in 31 Third League matches for Wiewiecta. At the end of the competition, he underwent knee surgery after suffering a ruptured cruciate ligament, and in the following months he regained his full strength.
– I have never played in the first league. This is the only league in Poland that I haven't played in and it will be a good complement to my career. I return to Znicz with all my emotions after 16 years of playing in other clubs and leagues. I will go back to where I started and I would like to leave a good mark on the club's history. I would like to show young footballers that it is possible to return to playing at a good level after a serious cruciate ligament injury – Majewski admitted.
Earlier, during the winter transfer window, Daniel Stanlic, on loan from Miedz Legnica, joined Znicz.
The newcomer to the first league, with 23 points, ranks 13th in the table.
