According to data from the Société de gestion de la banque de Lettres de langue française (BTLF), the initiative, launched in 2014, boosted sales of Quebec books 11 times over the previous four Mondays.

The organization, which counts sales at independent bookstores, noted a “spectacular” rush toward Quebec novels in particular, with sales 17 times higher than usual. In comics and youth, we’re talking about a sevenfold and sixfold increase in sales, respectively.

On the Renaud-Bray/Archambault page, communications director Floriane Claveau notes that sales of Quebec books almost quadrupled compared to a “normal” Monday in August.
