Thanks to Gamestar’s announcement, we learn some new things about the strategy game Anno 117: Pax Romana that was announced yesterday.
Yesterday, Ubisoft Forward 2024 delivered a pleasant surprise in the form of the announcement of Anno 117: Pax Romana, the latest installment of the popular economic strategy. The publisher hasn’t shared many details about this project, but a few have been published by Gamestar The first announcement of the game.
Adding the numbers in the title together we get the number nine, as in the case of each part of the series. However, the authors chose the year 117 AD specifically because it was the peak moment in the development of the Roman Empire.
- The project’s creative director, Manuel Reiner, warns that the game on release day will not match the scope of Anno 1800’s current expansion, because that game has had five years of updates and DLC additions. However, the authors’ ultimate goal is to go beyond this game Bringing the brand closer to a wider audience, but without simplifying the gameplay mechanics.
- The game will launch with two regions to choose from. The first will be Lazio in Rome, showing the peak of the Empire’s development and providing a nice start to the game. The second would be Britain’s Albion, jokingly described as “every civilized Roman’s worst nightmare”. Which will be a good choice for players who want a harder challenge.
- In addition, the authors intend to devote more attention to diplomacy than in the previous parts.
It is also worth noting that Anno 117: Pax Romana is the first installment of the series, which is being developed simultaneously for PC and consoles. However, the creators assure that this will not harm the PC version, which is still a priority.
Anno 117: Pax Romana is coming to PC, Xbox Series The PC version will initially only be available on the Ubisoft Store and Epic Games Store.
