One planet cuts across the Earth. Because of its orbit, we are not a cosmic paradise.
  • The orbit of a gas giant has a major impact on conditions on Earth.
  • Changing the shape of Jupiter’s orbit could make Earth more habitable
  • More than 5,000 exoplanets have been discovered in the Milky Way, including the coveted Earth-2.

The solar system, in a sense, is a cosmic system of connected vessels, which we also see in the case of new reports by scientists regarding the influence of Jupiter on conditions on Earth.

Jupiter’s orbit affects Earth.

According to the researchers, one of the important factors of Jupiter that has an impact on Earth is the gas giant’s orbit. Previous research has already shown that changing it can have a significant impact on our planet. But the new analyses have shown that Habitable conditions on Earth could improve. To do this, we need to change Jupiter’s orbit slightly.

If Jupiter’s location stays the same but the shape of its orbit changes, that could make the planet more habitable, says planetary scientist Pam Vervoort of the University of California, Riverside.

Scientists believe this type of analysis could allow humanity to better identify which planets will be habitable in the future. More than 5,000 exoplanets have been discovered in the Milky Way alone. Who knows, maybe the coveted Earth 2 is among them.
