Oppenheimer’s star in the MCU? Cillian Murphy may play the main antagonist

In the face of recent reports of disastrous interest in the final series featuring Captain Marvel, Kamala Khan and Monica Rambeau, Marvel must act. One of the elements that may encourage viewers to watch subsequent productions will be the participation of famous actors – there is more and more talk about cooperation with the star of “Oppenheimer”.

After the actors’ and screenwriters’ strikes ended, Marvel Studios began aggressively churning out new superhero productions. We know that next year we can only count on the premiere of “Deadpool 3”, but this does not mean that there will be quiet months ahead of the film crew – on the contrary, the creators must roll up their sleeves and come up with a plan which will attract Audiences to cinema halls.

Latest rumors say so Cillian Murphy (“Oppenheimer”, “Inception”, “Peaky Blinders”) may be invited to collaborate with the Marvel Cinematic Universe – where the actor will play one of the greatest antagonists of this stage of the MCU, Doctor Doom, Which we will see in the next “Fantastic Four” movie. Although his appearance will only be in the post-credits scenes, the character could take Kang’s place and become one of the main villains in “Avengers: Secret Wars.”

Interestingly, he’s not the first actor to be linked to the role of Doom – at one point there was a lot of talk about Ryan Gosling’s involvement, and later there was a lot of talk about the studio’s plans for Mads Mikklesen. However, it is possible that Kevin Feige and his team will want to focus on the charismatic Irish actor.

Recently, we’ve repeatedly reported on casting choices for the “Fantastic Four” movie — it looks like Pedro Pascal will play Reed Richards, while Anya Taylor-Joy is attached to play the Silver Surfer. In the coming months, we should get to know the main cast of the series, because work on the set will begin in the spring of 2024 – and the premiere has been postponed to May 2, 2025.
