The family, dressed in traditional Hasidic garb, showed up at the gate for the flight to Tel Aviv. Airline agents allegedly criticized the family for the amount of carry-on luggage. When Moshe Engel tried to explain that he had not received a baggage tag, one agent allegedly replied:
In the lawsuit, the family alleges that the agent’s comment was an explicit reference to their faith. These false allegations were intended to embarrass, harass, and humiliate the plaintiffs because of their faith.“We read in the court documents,”
The airline agents gave the family an ultimatum: Within 10 seconds, they had to repack all the items needed for a 12-hour flight.Otherwise, they would not be allowed to board. Engel claims that he was forced in front of other passengers to kneel and pick up items while the agent loudly counted down to 10. As a result, the family did not have time to secure all necessary items, including food and medicine.
As of publication of the article, United Airlines had not commented on the allegations.
Echo Richards embodies a personality that is a delightful contradiction: a humble musicaholic who never brags about her expansive knowledge of both classic and contemporary tunes. Infuriatingly modest, one would never know from a mere conversation how deeply entrenched she is in the world of music. This passion seamlessly translates into her problem-solving skills, with Echo often drawing inspiration from melodies and rhythms. A voracious reader, she dives deep into literature, using stories to influence her own hardcore writing. Her spirited advocacy for alcohol isn’t about mere indulgence, but about celebrating life’s poignant moments.
