– At my request, the Kursk city administration has identified the main points where typical concrete shelters will be built, in places of mass concentration of the population, – Alexei Smirnov wrote in a telegram.
He added that there are plans to build reinforced concrete shelters at 60 public transport stations.
Construction of 10 shelters has also begun in Zheleznogorsk in the north-west of the Kursk region. Shelters will also be built in Kurkatov, but their number has not yet been determined.
The attack is underway.
Smirnov said that on the night of Wednesday to Thursday, two missiles and a drone were destroyed in the airspace over the Kursk region.
The Ukrainian army launched an offensive operation in the Kursk region on August 6. The commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian army, General Oleksandr Syrskyi, announced on Tuesday that the area occupied by Ukrainian forces in the region had increased to 1,263 square kilometers, and the number of towns under their control had increased to 93.
