This time, students from the University of Warsaw won One gold, five silver and two bronze medals. The website of the competition organizer reported that a total of seven teams were awarded the gold medal, which solved two problems.

Also among the winners are five teams from China and one from Canada.

One of the first problems the contestants encountered this year—an asteroid deflection—had to do with an asteroid approaching Earth. Teams had to calculate at what point a spacecraft in low Earth orbit needed to collide with an asteroid to stop its catastrophic collision with our planet. In order to solve this problem, a team of students from the Faculty of Physics at the University of Warsaw formed it Jan Dubrakowski, Wojciech Shemyasek and Ignacy Stachora Gold won: – Fedorovich reported.

Students from the University of Warsaw participated in this competition for the seventh time. For four years, Paweł Sidorczak, a final year student of second-stage studies in Physics, was responsible for organizing it at the University of Warsaw.

The competition was prepared and participated in by students of the University of Warsaw with funding from the Faculty of Physics of the University of Warsaw.
