The match started with a draw (7:6), but the Poles quickly outplayed their rivals (12:8). From that moment on, the Whites and Reds party began, which the hosts could not cope with. The players led by Miłosz Majka showed their strength and deservedly won the first match.
In the second set, the dominance of the Polish women was even more evident. At the beginning, our players scored seven points in a row (9:1), and with every minute the advantage was growing. In the end, the hosts scored their first “streak” in this match (from 8:21 to 11:21), but it was not enough. After only 45 minutes of play, the score was 2-0.
In the third game, the home team began to improve, leading to a slightly better result at the beginning (4:2). Later, the Polish women again switched to the fifth gear and again “ran away” from their opponents. Natasza Ornoch and Zofia Pinderska were the leaders on the serve. The series of consecutive points became a reality and the match was about to end. The Whites and Reds completed the task and could start enjoying another victory.
With this victory, the Polish representatives sealed their promotion to the medal zone. Of the eight teams that played in groups, only the best two qualified for the semi-finals. From Group B, Italy and Poland will compete for the medals, and from Group A – Turkey and Belgium.
Poland – Ireland 3-0 (25:12, 25:12, 25:8)
