Provoking the Russians. A banner with Putin appeared on the border

Anton Herashchenko, advisor to the Ukrainian Interior Minister, shared a recording from the Russian-Estonian border between Ivangorod and Narva. On the side of the Russian Federation there is a banner with Putin and a bear. In the background are the tricolor flag and features of the Russian state.

However, the most important thing is the inscription on the sign. “Russian borders never end,” Herashchenko quotes. As he points out, this is another provocation from Putin’s regime. – This will allow the regime to blame the West for creating the “Iron Curtain” – says the minister’s advisor, adding that Russia is slowly turning to North Korea.

Russia’s relations with Estonia, to put it mildly, are not the best. The reason is the constant claims made by the Russians against the Baltic states. They want to rebuild their borders from the time of the Soviet Union, which could lead to the loss of independence of the three small republics bordering the Baltic Sea.

Vladimir Putin uses pressure tactics against Russia’s neighbors, such as sending migrants to the border. Not only Finland, but also Estonia, has had to respond in recent days to the appearance of groups of men from Asia or North Africa at border points. The content of the sign should be considered in both contexts.

Estonians strengthen the border with Russia

Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna announced that he advises his citizens and residents of the country not to travel to Russia. If the borders are closed, they will not be able to return to the country.

The Estonians realize that with Finland closing its borders, they may become a target of Putin’s hybrid operation. That is why 25 concrete barriers have been placed on the bridge connecting Estonia with Russia in Narva. This comes within the framework of preparations for a possible wave of immigrants from the east. Closing border points is also being considered.

Russia’s border with Estonia is more than 330 kilometers long. There are seven border crossings: pedestrian, car and railway. More than 125 kilometers of the border passes along three interconnected lakes.

After the crisis on the Polish-Belarusian border in 2021, the Estonians began building fortifications. A barbed wire fence equipped with electronic devices is being built along the entire land border with the Russian Federation.
