In recent weeks, we may have come across speculation about a larger amount of money we will have to spend on the purchase of the PlayStation 5. However, it turns out that the rumors may have a shade of the truth – we just received interesting news. The manufacturer “with immediate effect” increases the price of the console.

The epidemic, the availability of semiconductors affecting production difficulties, and the problems of ensuring regular delivery had unpleasant consequences. Few, however, could have believed that Sony would now decide to increase the price of the PlayStation 5. During the last investor session, in which the producer was looking for financial results, CFO Hiroki Totoki did not want to specifically answer the question about the console’s price hike. new. • PS5 Digital Edition – 449.99 euros (about 2146 zlotys), previously 399 euros.

“We are seeing rising global inflation as well as unfavorable currency trends affecting consumers and putting pressure on many industries. Due to these challenging economic conditions, SIE has made the difficult decision to raise the Recommended Retail Price (RRP) of the PlayStation 5 in select markets in Europe. Middle East and Africa (EMEA), Asia Pacific (APAC), Latin America (LATAM) and Canada. There will be no price increase in the US.”

Ryan confirmed that the price of the PS5 in the US will not change, which is certainly influenced by the strong position of the dollar. What will the situation look like on the Polish market? 50 euros equals about 238 zlotys, so we can assume that the PS5 will be more expensive in the coming weeks. An additional difficulty is certainly represented by the fact that in our country the device is mainly available in sets, the value of which is about 2800-3000 PLN, so we can assume that the “new price” for packages will be at least 3,000 PLN.

Sony ensures that despite the increases and the impact of the global economic situation on the company’s operations, the priority is to increase the supply of PlayStation 5, “So that as many players as possible can experience everything PS5 has to offer and what’s still ahead of us.”.
