The first reviews of “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” are appearing, which should get the undecided interested in the production. Journalists praise the story, the actors, and the story itself is a worthy farewell to the title characters.
The recent stories of the Marvel Cinematic Universe don’t offer the highest quality, which is why journalists and fans have been so critical of some of the stories from the MCU’s Phase 4 and the beginning of the final series. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has an opportunity to reverse this negative trend, as the story has received much praise.
Currently, the film is given the highest rating (9/10) by Molly Freeman, who believes it is the last. James Gunn’s production is a “triumph” because the creator took care of good action and subtle humor, and everything tied into an emotional story.
Ultimately, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 is Gunn’s weirdest, bleakest, and most emotional film, but also his strongest. As such, it’s a must-see for those who have followed these heroes’ stories over the past decade, as well as for casual Marvel fans. It might not be the movie you’d expect, but it’s a pretty satisfying ending for this particular version of the team – even if it’s in a franchise like the MCU where there’s no real end point, there’s no sense of a true ending. Still, it’s a great movie that perfectly fits its time and delivers a much-needed victory for the MCU. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 is the perfect conclusion to Gunn’s trilogy in the MCU, while leaving the door open for more.
Journalists maintain that although the villain is not properly introduced, the entire cast is very good. The story does not disappoint with James Gunn playing some subtexts that give the story more depth than the previous entries in the universe.
Liz Shannon Miller (Consequences) wasn’t very positive about the film, asserting that the latest “Watchmen” lacks a good presentation of the main theme that ties the action together and in her opinion is the worst story in the entire trilogy. A plus is definitely the soundtrack, as this again does not disappoint.
William Bibbiani of The Warp maintains that while many of the previous adventures from the MCU’s Phase 4 didn’t deliver the proper level, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 shows that Marvel can still surprise positively:
The success of Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol, 3 proves that Marvel movies can still hit the mark after more than 30 films, but also that it’s getting harder and harder to do so. Marvel Studios has set the bar so high that they’re now struggling to make it happen. But sometimes it’s worth a try.
“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” is supposed to offer a “more realistic” plot compared to the previous stories, because a group of superheroes is facing an unusual problem in this universe – thanks to this we can get to know the characters better and thanks to this the story can Attract a lot of viewers. This is another “unusual formula” for the MCU, but at the same time an interesting conclusion to the trilogy.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has collected a whopping 91% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, and the film currently has a rating of 68% on Metacritic.
