– There was a certain pattern in every region of our country. We have always faced the problem of greed and corruption. What happened over the past eight years was just a mechanism, it was not human greed, but a mechanism by which permission to steal was given to certain people. Merger of Orlin and Lotus
In 2022, the Łódź-Schrodmiesee District Court of Łódź, 20th Commercial Division of the National Court Register, registered the merger of PKN Orlen with Grupa Lotos.
Earlier, in January 2022, in accordance with the requirements of the European Commission, Orlin submitted planned remedial measures in relation to the acquisition of Grupa Lotos. Among other things it was reported that the Hungarian company MOL will acquire 417 gas stations of the Lotos Group network in Poland, and Orlen will buy from MOL 144 gas stations in Hungary and 41 gas stations in Slovakia. The fuel and asphalt logistics area within the Lotos Terminale will be purchased by Unimot. Lotos Biopaliwa will be acquired by Rossi Biofuel.
As Orlin mentioned, it negotiated for Saudi Aramco to buy 30 percent. Lotos Group refinery shares in Gdańsk and agreed to a long-term delivery contract worth PLN 200,000. Up to 337 thousand barrels of oil per day, while the target volume of Saudi raw material supplies should be 20 million tons annually.
