In the Russian media, the juxtaposition of “bad West” and “good traditional Russia” is repeated over and over again. Until recently, the leading “experts” invited into the studio had nothing against Europe and the United States; Enjoy many villas and apartments in European countries. Everything has changed since the invasion of Ukraine. Now Russia is supposed to be in the first place. This is shown by excerpts from recent editions of advertising programmes.
In one of them, Margarita Simonyan, editor-in-chief of the propaganda channel TVRT, Which does not hide that it misses the Soviet Unionshe admitted that she could not live outside of Russia.
An ordinary Russian person cannot live abroad for a long time. I tried it, but I couldn’t. we are different
I argued. She added that “only a person who has nothing to do with the homeland and is not natural can live abroad.”
The deceased Russian feels in his own country as if he were wearing very narrow shoes. Sure, these shoes are beautiful, elegant, modern, clean and new … (…) but they are uncomfortable and you feel that something is wrong with them. You can’t wait to take them off and put on your old trampled slippers. It is not very fresh, but there is a relief when you wear it
– She said Simonyan.
According to numerous sources, including the Russian opposition organization Rospartizan, Simonian made millions of rubles from propaganda activities. He owns luxurious apartments in Moscow and many expensive cars.
Since the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine, Ukrainians have been dehumanized in the Russian media. People attacked by Russia are called “Nazis”. Promoters say so Ukraine is “Russian land”.
In the program of another of the main figures of Russian propaganda, Vladimir Solovyov, more scandalous words were said. Political scientist Vitaly Tretyakov (known for years, among others, from attacking the Poles) He said that “the great European countries are on the brink of collapse.”
In 20 or 30 years the map of Europe will look very different. (…) Look what the Ukrainian nation has turned into – they have turned into animals
Tretyakov said. The studio responded to his words with a moment of silence.
