When it comes to the frequency of updating Android smartphones, Samsung is second only to Google. If we add the number of updated smartphones, Samsung is second to none.
At the end of October, the latest version of Android 13 with One UI 5 overlay arrived on three smartphones of the Galaxy S22 line. Several days later, Samsung added eight more models to the list.
Android 13 and One UI 5: Update started for Galaxy S21, S20 and Note 20 series

The list of smartphones that have just been updated includes the following models:
- Galaxy S21
- Galaxy S21 +;
- Galaxy S21 Ultra;
- Galaxy S20
- Galaxy S20 +;
- Galaxy S20 Ultra;
- Galaxy Note 20
- Galaxy Note 20 Ultra.
For now, the cheaper variants of the S20 FE and S21 FE have been removed, but the update to Android 13 and One UI 5 will also be available in a few weeks.
The pace of updating older Samsung smartphones is unprecedented
So far, Samsung has treated users of the latest models with great priority. A year ago, Android 12 appeared in the latest series in November, and users of older phones had to wait until the beginning of next year.
This time, the latest flagships were launched as well, but only two weeks ago. It’s the beginning of November, and Samsung has already adopted three generations of smartphones. Other brands – other than Google – haven’t even started updating yet.
