A disabled passenger bought a ticket for a Ryanair flight from Gdansk to Bristol in the UK on July 1. He also ticked the box that he needed an assistant to board the plane – as the Tricity website describes.
Mr. Thomas arrived at the airport an hour and a half before departure, was successfully checked in and started to board the bus to the machine. But then the lady in charge of check-in sent him back.
“She received a message asking for assistance in getting to the departure gate. I explained to her that I did not need assistance in getting on the plane, but “The lady in charge offered to help me, and I agreed,” the man described in a message posted to Tricity.
A disabled passenger was turned away. Suddenly the gate was closed.
The staff suggested that he should sit near the gate and wait for the attendant. But no one appeared. Although the entrance and the staff were in plain view of Mr. Tomasz at all times, the gate suddenly closed.
“I started begging to be allowed to board the plane that I could see through the windows. However, I was definitely taken to the customer service point, where the head of the point, almost with a smile on her face, told me that I would not be flying today, I had to be careful, etc. I was offered a flight the next day from Poznan or the day after, on a flight from Gdansk, on July 4. I also asked to meet the lady who then refused me. She confirmed my account and said that I was the one who had not checked the boarding,” – the man confirmed in the message.
They asked him to wait and the plane took off without him. “He missed his flight.”
Mr Thomas claims he was “forced” to pay an extra £100 (around 500 PLN) for the next flight. However, airlines are washing their hands of this.
“This passenger missed their boarding gate and missed their flight from Gdansk to Bristol on 1 July. Every passenger is required to report to their boarding gate before it closes, as shown on their boarding pass. If this passenger had reported to board before it closed, they would have been on a flight from Gdansk to Bristol,” a Ryanair spokesperson told Tricity in response to questions.
Echo Richards embodies a personality that is a delightful contradiction: a humble musicaholic who never brags about her expansive knowledge of both classic and contemporary tunes. Infuriatingly modest, one would never know from a mere conversation how deeply entrenched she is in the world of music. This passion seamlessly translates into her problem-solving skills, with Echo often drawing inspiration from melodies and rhythms. A voracious reader, she dives deep into literature, using stories to influence her own hardcore writing. Her spirited advocacy for alcohol isn’t about mere indulgence, but about celebrating life’s poignant moments.
