How efficient will flagships be in 2022? Tests show that the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is an incomparably better processor than its predecessor. Wasn’t it possible right away?
a few days ago Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 It was the first official show. The manufacturer emphasized the amazing capabilities of the new processor, but after the previous error, no one will take their word for it. Now the first reference results have reached the network. Let’s see what the SoC, which will power all upcoming major vessels in 2022, has to offer.
Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 in benchmark tests
Let’s start with AnTuTu, because everyone knows in one way or another what this result means. One million points is the limit that was previously exceeded (but not necessarily average) by the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 does it without a problem. Even if we released the standard three times in a row, the magic barrier would be broken every time.
Where can you see the biggest drop in subsequent tests? in GPU performance. This may or may not indicate a gaming performance limitation. On the other hand – with such a power reserve, there is currently no game that can use the full potential of the new Snapdragon.
Geekbench goes to the second shot. Here, the results are fairly close in each iteration of the test. About 1,140 and 4,200 points (for single and multiple cores, respectively) is a fixed number. Still, however, in the multi-core Performance then MediaTek Dimensity 9000 wins. By less than 10%, but still winning.
All these considerations lead us to one conclusion – Qualcomm drew conclusions and provided us with a good processor for the flagship. It’s a pity that some have already bought flagship ships in 2022. In the end, we’re just missing out on power performance. Qualcomm says it will be visible to the naked eye. The 30% better energy efficiency is great news for everyone.
More about Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 You will find it out from our premiere text. In short – if you have already bought a flagship in 2022, I feel sorry for you.
