Some time ago, Sony introduced a new streaming service called BRAVIA CORE, which was created specifically for the BRAVIA XR TV series. Thanks to it, every user of the specific model produced in 2021 and later has access to a large database of films, including exclusive titles. The element that distinguished this solution from competitors was image quality. BRAVIA CORE gave users access to 4K video material (with HDR), and the bit rate was up to 80 Mb/s. It should be noted that the application was also available on select devices from the Xperia series. Starting next year, the service will be called Sony Pictures Core, and owners of the aforementioned consoles have already gained access to the “new products.”

The Sony PlayStation 5 console is finally getting a feature in the PS Store that was available in previous generations

To use the application, simply download it from the console and register for the service. The offer includes more than 2000 titles that we can rent and buy. We’re talking about relatively new productions, like Spider-Man: Through the Multiverse, as well as slightly older films. Users will also get a special opportunity to watch the production in early access. In select markets, including Poland, the number one film in this category will soon be Gran Turismo (world premiere: August 9, 2023). Interestingly, when we decide to buy this movie, we will get credits that we can use in Gran Turismo 7 (for example, there will be car models from the movie).

The films will be ad-free, and some of the titles are: Looper, Final Fantasy XV: Kingsguard, Elysium, and Resident Evil: Damnation. Special benefits for PS Plus subscribers have also been announced, but we will have to wait for more details. Finally, Sony added that the offer will be constantly expanded and anime productions will appear (Crunchyroll).
