Disney at the Star Wars Celebration event showed the premiere of the new series from the Star Wars universe – Ahsoka.
After The Mandalorian comes Ahsoka
Season 3 of The Mandalorian ends April 19, but Star Wars fans needn’t worry about a lack of series to watch. During the ongoing Star Wars Celebration in London, Disney announced that the next series will be Ahsoka. You may know the heroine from the Star Wars animated series, but this time she’s getting her own live-action series.
But the best news is that it will premiere on Disney+ later this year – in August! The creator of the series is Dave Filon, and the role of executive producer is played by Jon Favreau. Rosario Dawson (Seven Souls, Sin City, Men in Black II) will star, but the trailer also features Natasha Liu Bordizzo (When Nobody’s Looking, Daily Shift, Guns Akimbo) as Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead (10 Cloverfield Lane, Birds of Prey, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World) as Hera Syndola, Genevieve O’Reilly (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Endor) as Moonmoth and Ray Stephenson (The Punisher, Transporter: The New Force) as Baylan Skoll.
The cast is known, but what about the plot?
Ahsoka is Anakin Skywalker’s Padawan who shows great promise, eventually even mastering dual lightsaber combat. But unfortunately, some time later, she was accused of attempting to assassinate Wolfert as a conspiracy, which led to her escape. She has become an ex-Jedi, but has returned to investigate a new, emerging threat in the galaxy.
Do you feel encouraged? I think you should – and no doubt all fans of this universe are counting down the days until August. Let me know how you like the trailer.
