Ski jumping fans are counting down the hours until the start of the 72nd Four Hills Championships. Kamil Stoch has already “jumped” onto the podium.
The first competition of the 72nd edition of the Four Hills Championship will be held on Friday (December 29) in Oberstdorf, Germany. Training and qualification for the competition will be held on Thursday (December 28).
Six players have been called up to the Polish Ski Jumping Team for the TCS 2023/24: Maciej Kot, Dawid Kubacki, Kamil Stoch, Paweł Wiśek, Aleksander Znieszczul and Piotr Szczyła (more here).
For the 36-year-old Stoch, this will be his 19th appearance – including the 2023/24 season – in the German-Austrian event. Journalist Adam Bucholz from the Skijumping.pl portal published a list (see below) of players with the most starts in TCS history in his X profile.
The classification opens with Japanese Noriaki Kasai, who participated in the prestigious tournament 28 times. In second place, for example, are Swiss Simon Ammann and Austrian Manuel Wittner (both 25 entries).
Stoch is in third place with several other players. “Rocket from Zap” is currently ahead of, among others, South Korean representative Heung-Chol Choi (18 matches in TCS).
