TCL is currently one of the largest producers of televisions – in Poland alone, at the end of last year, it was included in the TOP 5 group of brands related to the fastest selling television. TCL was also the first manufacturer to offer mini LED-backlit LCD TV models on a larger scale. This year, we can expect up to four new 4K TV series to appear, two of which will use the aforementioned Mini LED backlighting. This year, there is no shortage of improving technology and introducing functions that players should use in the first place. What exactly are the TV series to expect this year? TCL C93, TCL C83, TCL C73 and TCL C63.
TCL has unveiled its latest 4K TVs that will be available in Europe in the coming months. There are four series: TCL C93, TCL C83, TCL C73 and TCL C63. The first two uses, among others a small LED backlight.
Samsung OLED S95B – The manufacturer will soon introduce TVs with special QD-OLED panels
The most comprehensive series this year is the TCL C93, which will be offered in 65- and 75-inch sizes and with 4K resolution. These models feature LED backlighting and 12,000 LEDs, which create over 2,000 independent blur areas. TCL Mini LED OD5 technology is responsible for more brightness and contrast control (compared to competing solutions based on mini LED backlight), which means that the distance between the backlight and the LCD screen is 5mm. The fourth generation of TCL LED TVs also provides a 16-bit backlight level shift for more precise brightness control and brighter colors. In addition, the integrated Mini LED backlight control processor also has a lower backlight delay of up to 1 frame instead of 3 in the case of normal backlighting (1 frame means 1/120 sec – 0.0083 sec), as a result the image has less glow Better clarity and clarity.
Sony BRAVIA XR A95K – The first TV on the market with a QD-OLED matrix. In addition to the A90K and A80K models with WRGB OLED technology
TCL C93 offers a 4K matrix with support for four HDR formats: HDR10, HLG, HDR10 + and Dolby Vision (along with an extended version in the form of Dolby Vision IQ). The maximum brightness is up to 2000 nits in HDR mode. In addition, the monitor uses a 144Hz refresh rate and fully supports HDMI 2.1 functions: automatic game mode to reduce lags (input lag should not exceed 6ms), variable refresh rate, or native support for 4K resolution combined with a high refresh rate. There is no shortage of update technology in the form of AMD FreeSync Premium. The TCL C93 series TVs are equipped with a 2.1.2 sound system with built-in Onkyo speakers, two of which are mounted so that the sound is directed towards the ceiling (of course, this does not reflect the same level of sound quality as dedicated ceiling-mounted speakers for the best Dolby Atmos effect) . Speakers set up in collaboration with Onkyo, of course, support Dolby Atmos’ spatial format.
TCL C83
LG OLED A2, B2, C2, G2, and Z2 – The company introduces new OLED, OLED evo 4K and 8K TVs in sizes from 42 to 97 inches
The TCL C83 is a slightly less advanced series with its difference in using fewer LEDs and therefore – with fewer independent blanking areas (although we don’t know the exact value). There is also support for all the most important HDR formats: HDR10, HLG, HDR10 + and Dolby Vision (IQ), in which case the maximum brightness in HDR mode will already be 1000 nits. TCL C83 TV series will be offered in 55, 65 and 75 inch sizes. Like the C93, the TCL C83 is also based on the Google TV Smart TV platform.

TCL C73
The TCL C73 Series was primarily built with gamers in mind. Here we will not find a small LED backlight anymore, instead the manufacturer offers a standard LED-backlit LCD panel. The matrix has a refresh rate of 144 Hz with full support for the HDMI 2.1 function, which we have already mentioned on the occasion of the TCL C93 series. Also in this case, HDR10, HLG, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision (IQ) support is available, although due to the less advanced control of local dimming, the HDR effects will not be as good as in the higher C83 and (especially) C93 serial. The TCL C63 is the least advanced model that is mainly prepared for watching movies or series. This device already has a matrix with a refresh rate of 60 Hz and HDMI 2.0 connectors. Unfortunately, we have not yet learned the exact prices for individual models from TCL.
