Terrifier 2, directed by Damien Leone, is a sequel to the 2016 production of the same title. The evil character is a brutal psychopath disguised as a clown named Art The Clown. The serial killer in the previous part received a bullet to the head, but as it turned out – the terrible clown survived. In the segment, she returns to the stalking and abuse of teenage Sienna (Lauren Lavera) and her younger brother Jonathan (Elliott Fulham) at night. Halloween. This time the killer does not act alone – an unusual ally helps him in the commission of brutal crimes.
As the title’s official description says: “This is not a movie for the faint-hearted or Sunday-horror watchers.” And at the outset I will write that there is some truth in this. But just a little.
Bag for potential return to dinner, which was Splat! FilmFest distributes it at Kinoteka before the screening of ‘Terrifier 2’ Bartomig Marcinkowski
I decided to watch this movie of course out of curiosity. After reading all the scary news about him, I couldn’t let go of this projection. But I must also admit that I kept a certain amount of doubt at the end of my head. why? When I was younger, horror was my favorite type of movie. As a kid, I would mainly go to the movies to watch horror movies, and I looked at the TV show online to see if they would play something interesting later.
So, it was a simple return to the past for me. I remembered those bleak returns from the cinema on the last bus home or late nights when an interesting horror movie was on TV. However, as I got older my tastes changed and this genre was no longer so interesting to me. I already knew most of the patterns by heart and stopped looking for something that might somehow surprise me.

Now, when I’ve decided to get into a horror movie, I’m sure to have a classic title, whose special vibe and ambiguous mood excite me far more than contemporary propositions. And the creators of “Terrifier 2” did not forget about such productions. The heroes watch TV during several scenes and we can see on their screens, among other things, a breakthrough of the horror film “Night of the Living Dead” by George A. Romero from 1968 or lauded by some of the world’s worst movie “Plan 9 from Space” by Ed Wood from 1959.
But putting these titles on screens is probably not due to the love of the classics of the genre, but to the budget of the film. The movies I mentioned above are in the public domain, so you can use them for free without breaking the law. Terrifier 2 is a movie with a budget of only $250,000. In the special effects displayed, which in some people cause nausea and fainting.
Moving towards describing the level of horrific and disgusting visuals, the film certainly begins “from a thick tube.” The first scene shows us in depth what to expect next. There are few moments when, for example, peeling the skin, tightening the ends or pouring acid on the face is quite realistic. However, there are not as many of them as you might expect.
The creators have certainly managed to create one of the deadliest films of recent years, but as I mentioned above, you can see that the special effects are not of the highest quality. And are these pictures that will cause vomiting of the ordinary viewer? In my opinion no. I’m a very resistant person to all kinds of abominations and I know everyone’s sensitivity is different, but “Terrafire 2” is a movie that has many viewers laughing at its idiomaticity. However, I did not hear a shriek or a shriek even once.
Because in fact, this seems to be a movie created specifically for horror film festivals, where slasher fans will be able to enjoy it as much as possible. There are many elements in the movie comedyWhich gracefully intertwine with horrific scenes, which often cause a barrage of laughter in the cinema hall. It’s definitely not the type of horror that is regularly played in multiplexes. In the United States, where many cases of syncope have occurred, its wide distribution is not planned.
As for the plot itself, it is in my opinion mercilessly prolonged. The movie runs at 2 hours and 20 minutes, which is too long for a slasher, plus it’s low on cost. At the end of the movie, also because the clock was late, I yawned twice and asked several times in my head, “How many times are you going to wake up?” Despite that, I think it’s definitely worth waiting for the show to end and seeing what the creators left with a surprise for the ending itself.
Game Acting at an average level. The actress who played the main character, Lauren Lavera, did her best, “The Last Girl” finding herself in all the situations that her fate hoped for. The filming of the manic Art The Clown, played by David Howard Thornton, is also very good. The character, apart from causing fear or disgust, was also able to make us laugh. The worst character in the film is the mother of the main character, played by Phylissa Rose. Watching the scenes with her participation, I sometimes had the impression that I was watching a semi-documentary.
Good looking atmosphere is a definite plus of production Welcomes you Halloween, from making costumes for siblings to staying in an abandoned amusement park. The atmosphere is also created by the ’80s stylized music, which fits well with the movie scenes and brings to mind the cut classics of those years.
I had a lot of fun during the show, the atmosphere in front of the room and during the show is indescribable. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen so many people in movie halls who have been looking forward to the show. For all fans of the genre and curious about your reaction, I recommend going to this movie.
And while the film has already earned $5.2 million in the US since its release, we don’t yet expect a wider distribution of “Terrifier 2” in Poland. Currently, the movie can be watched on Splat! FilmFest. Shows are held at the Kinoteka in Warsaw and the Nowe Horyzonty Cinema in Wroclaw.
