Deputy Olympic champion from Tokyo, Maria Andrejic, had health problems. She had to undergo shoulder surgery, which brought her season to an end. She reported her health via social media.

A very successful season for Maria Andrejcic. First, she threw 71.40 meters in Split, which is a new Polish record and one of the best in the history of the discipline in the world.

Later, at the Tokyo Olympics, she won a silver medal, which is the biggest success of her career so far. In Japan, she fought not only with rivals, but also with pain.

These are the effects of an injury I sustained in 2016. It is related to a fracture of the labrum of the shoulder joint. Andrejczyk had to undergo shoulder surgery.

Andrejczyk wrote on Facebook “It’s serious – I have a vacation. Thank you again for saving my shoulder to Przemysław Lubiatowski from Rehasport. Łapka also worked to rest.”

The vice Olympic champion will be able to return to the start of next season. In 2022, athletes will take part in two important events – the World Championships in Oregon (July 15-24) and the European Championships in Munich (August 11-22).
