That’s Santa Bogey  The first duet for Gregory Charles and his daughter Julia

Here comes Santa BoogieGregory is the title of the first father-daughter duet recorded by Charles and Julia, about their gift giving and holiday sharing.


The piece, an original composition, is in a way a response to classic French Santa Claus got stuck in my chimney, written by Ella Fitzgerald, is Julia’s favorite Christmas song. “The beat is upbeat and imagining Santa stuck in a chimney on Christmas Eve makes us both laugh,” said Gregory Charles in a song release. But since the piano duo couldn’t find a French equivalent, father and daughter challenged themselves to imagine. A flash of inspiration from watching Mom dance after kissing Santa Claus took them hours to compose a festive boogie.

“In the beginning, it was just for us, to please our family, and then we thought of sharing our first father-daughter composition with all the families,” concludes the pianist, who passes as a true music lover of Christmas. ; Christmas in Charles with carols, American classics of the holiday season, gospel, Beau Dame… music.
